Is it possible to contact a dog owner on kennel club uk?

I'm looking to reunite my dog with his siblings from the litter. He is registered on kennel club UK, and I can see the names of the siblings registered on there. However is there a way to reach out to the other dogs owners? or get contact details for them? I'd very much like to compare notes on the dogs and offer a play meet up?

Thanks

No. You can't do it via The Kennel Club. Sometimes breeders have a facebook page and puppy owners chat to each other that way, so it may be worth approaching the breeder.

😭😭!! Thankyou for replying!! Surely the KC should have a networking option too? Where owners can opt in or out when they register a dog, whether they are open to contact or not, and by whom.. would be so lovely for dog families xx

I can't see many people wanting to opt in to eing contacted by complete strangers just because they happened to buy a dog from the same place.

I think there are too many potential issues around privacy and data protection for it to really be feasible.
If you aren't able to contact your breeder via email or find them on social media, you could try your breed club. Some breed clubs have fun days or meet ups and you may be able to establish contact with dogs from the same lines as yours if that is what you want.

Honestly? I'd think you were weird if you contacted me saying you wanted my dog to meet his 'family',

I certainly don't want a 'play meet up'. Blimey.

Our breeder started a Facebook page and we have a what’s app chat, we try to meet up once a year so they can see how all the pups are doing

OP try Facebook. I have a Spaniel and have seen a FB group for Spaniels where people post up location and names of parents to reunite those that want to be reunited with doggy siblings. I presume they exist for other breeds too.

GDPR would forbid the breeder from
giving you any details unless there was prior agreement like a WhatsApp group for the litter.

It would be fairly pointless though. All dogs within a litter are completely different so comparing notes wouldn’t walk - it’s like human siblings, just because they share the same genetics doesn’t mean their personalities are anyway comparable.

I totally agree that it doesn't mean having any common ground. Just to clarify, when I said approach the breeder I just meant in regard to a facebook Messenger or similar. Our pup's breeder has a group chat and some of the puppy people are on there, although we're not.

I knew what you meant! 😃

Though tbf it might be fairly moot point depending on the dogs age - by two they usually forget their siblings anyway, except in very rare cases!

I’m still on contact with my dogs siblings. The breeder set up a WhatsApp for us. They’re great people and we’ve become friends over the years. However our dogs do not like each other 🤣 despite getting on with other dogs their brothers and sisters are a hard no.

Yet they still remember the breeder. Or at least our boy did, at a club show, over two years after he'd last seen her, when he was 9 weeks old. No interest in the other dogs but went bonkers for his breeder and her teenage daughter.
So I suspect a play date as the OP wants, is more for the owners than the dogs in most cases.

@CoubousAndTourmaIet a testament to what a good breeder you chose that your boy still went bonkers after all those years! 😀
