Hi - I have two 9 1/2 week old kittens - had first jabs and second lot at 12 weeks. I am keen to get them outside - they are charging every outside door already to get out as they listen out for the noise, plus my dd1 is sneezing/eye watering more than usual and I suspect the kitties! We're not near any main roads. I keep being told that 'pref not just after 12 week jabs' and 'pref after spayed - 5/6 months!!' Realistically when could I let them wander a bit though?! Getting a cat flap soon and am happy to supervise for first few outings.

Not until they are neutered/spayed which can be done as early as 4 months. you could take them out for a walk around the garden on harnesses though.

Blimey - 4 months is early. Is the spaying the only reason then?

yes, as I can pretty much guaruntee you that they will get pregnant if you let them out without spaying them.
