Advice on neighbours cat please

A neighbour two blocks down has quite a few cats, they’ve got a mixture and were used to breed up until a few months ago. So it’s a mix of kittens and adult cats.

two of their cats are consistently outdoors, all they do is cry at the front or back door for hours at a time. There is someone at home all day every day, they just never let the poor wee things in. When I say they cry, I mean they are loud and at first I wondered if it was in pain. There is no way they can not hear it.

one in particular is driving me around the bend, I know it’s not the cats fault it’s using both my front and back garden as its litter tray, spraying my back door, and yesterday it sprayed my garden furniture. I can not leave my back door open as it is constantly trying to get in my house. It’s almost the reverse of having a dog trying to get out.

I arrive home with shopping and I’ve got to squeeze in whilst keeping my foot up to stop it getting in. It has no fear, tried a hand clap and nothing stamped my foot and it just stares at you then tries to get in again. It’s being aggressive with the other wee cats on the street constantly fighting with ones just walking past.

I feel like the wee cat is being neglected which is causing it to be so aggressive, crying all the time and constantly trying to get in someone’s house.

or is this just normal cat behaviour? If it’s just normal behaviour can you give me suggestions to stop it trying to get in my house, using the garden as a toilet and spraying everything in sight?

thank you

I’d adopt it.

If it is a young one, take it to a rescue.

I doubt it’s microchipped if the owners are neglectful. Take it to the vet and say you think it’s a stray. Poor thing should be neutered. I’d also be minded to report neighbours to the rspca if you think the cats are being neglected.

I just want sure, with not being a cat owner, if it was normal for them to be outdoors 24/7 but always crying.

im assuming it’s the two males that are being used to breed that are being left out so they don’t continue to mate.

unfortunately I can’t take it in, myself and my two daughters have really bad cat/dog fur allergies, we have no pets of our own.

I’ll try and contact the rspca today and ask for some advice, whilst I’m not overly keen on cats I can’t stand the thought of any animal being mistreated, why have them? Why not give them to a loving home!

Definitely speak to the RSPCA. You can also try spraying it with water. It won't hurt the cat but they hate it. Spray it every time you see it and it might be enough to keep it away.
