Black Fleas / Cat fleas

Hi All,

My cat has developed black fleas, and I've been getting bites on my legs and hands at night. I'm feeling really frustrated and upset about this.

I already gave him fleas treatment last week, seems it didn’t worked.

Could you please provide advice and guide me in the right direction

thanks

mike

Go to your vet and get prescription flea treatment from there. Most over the counter doesn't actually work against more persistent fleas.

Agree with prescription treatment from vets. Fleas are becoming resistant otc flea treatments.
You'll also need to treat the house:
Buy Indorex spray
(Hoover everything, including skirting boards
Wash /tumble dry clothing/ removable upholstery as per care labels, as high temps as they can take. Then spray the house as per directions)

You may need to treat the house & your cat more than once because of the flea life cycle- keep your cat on monthly flea treatments.

I made the mistake of putting the treatment on the fur to start with. You need to separate it out and get it right on the skin.

As someone that had weeks of bites and cycling I fully sympathise with the stress it brings.

They were literally everywhere and I was covered in bites. I spent weeks washing bedding clothes and blankets.

You have to treat separately, so isolate the cat (they won't like it but is necessary). Put Advantage on the cat, lock them in a room and then hoover all round including skirting boards and mattresses. Then spray Indorex everywhere, carpet skirting boards mattresses etc

Give it a couple of days and the cat should be clear.

If you don't separate the house and the cat, it will just keep infecting everywhere.

Indorex is expensive but it's worth every penny. It
Smells clinical and likes it's working. It cleared up my problem after weeks.

Act quick though.
