Next door's dog - advice please?

Next door's dog is home alone most of the working week and barks all day, non-stop. And I really mean, non-stop, bark bark bark bark bark from 8am to 4pm every monday to Friday. I WFH. The dog is inside the house, but we are semi detached so I hear through the wall.

It's slightly annoying for me but I'm not too bothered as I put music on when I work and it drowns the noise out.

But should I say something? Clearly the dog is not happy about something. Or is this normal? I don't know anything about dogs. I don't want to offend them but more out of concern for the animal.

Thanks

Yes, I would say something. they may not be aware of the non stop barking and provide the dog with more distractions/ enrichment if they did.

It shouldn't be left alone like that all day, poor thing. I would talk to the neighbours directly. Explain that the barking is continuous and the dog sounds like it's in distress and they need to do something about it because you are WFH. If they refuse, report to council as a persistent noise nuisance.

Not normal, poor dog. I would say something 100%.

Our dogs bark at front door, Pheasant/squirral on the patio etc but if im upstairs and one of them barks I go straight down as I know it's for a specific reason.

I've done similar with my neighbours - in their case they were leaving a fairly young dog outside in the garden whenever they went out, and the poor little thing was breaking its heart every time.

When I spoke to them they said they had no idea he would bark, they thought he'd be happier playing in the garden than indoors. First time dog owners, nice people but clueless about dogs! But still it kept happening...

So I made a nuisance of myself - I messaged them every single time it went on for longer than about 30 mins, and spoke to them about it every time I saw them. I made it clear I had taken a video / audio of how distressed he was, and how often it happened. They eventually took action and got a behaviourist in, I have no idea whether they no longer leave him out,or they do but he's been trained to manage, but we rarely hear anything now.

That dog is very unhappy (unsurprisingly, being left all day would feel like an eternity to him!), he needs someone to advocate for him. Please be that person!

I have an aggressive GSD next door too me. I am listening to it now. Barks and howls when left alone but also barks when they are at home and they do nothing to stop it. I get woken up by it, often after midnight. I have even seen the owner provoking it to bark from outside the window late at night. I used to work from home and it could be heard over teams meetings.
Spoke to the neighbour about it and asked for something to be done. He said he would but nothing has changed, no consideration or respect for me. It is so aggressive at the window, the local postman hates delivering to that house. Very rarely taken for a walk.
