Kittens

My cat had her kittens last night, I got up this morning to find two dead in the litter tray, one she hadn't even cleaned, one she had but obviously not managed to make its heart start.
We have one live, and she doesn't seem at all interested, I've had to make her lie down and put the kitten to her nipple a couple of times because she is just lying there purring, ignoring it.
What are the chances of her having more kittens now?
How long is normally between each birth?
Is she likely to start playing 'mother' or do they often just ignore them?

you have to be very careful with cats and their babues...if they reject them they can become very nasty to them,,,dont want to go into much detail....i imagine she would have had all the kittens....keep a very close eye on her and the kitten

I know that she could kill it if she rejects it, fingers crossed she is laying feeding it now and I just saw her washing it so I'm hoping she was just unsure and now natures doing it's thang.

My cat had 3 kittens last summer & although she didn't reject them, she wasn't too interested at the start. I had been told that she prob wouldn't leave them for the first week or so but she did, she used to go out for a couple of hours at a time, I would worry evey time that she was rejecting them but it was funny, she would always come back at feeding time
We re-homed one and ended up keeping two of them, who, up until quite recently, were still having milk from their mummy cheeky little monkeys, she has stopped that now though.
Good luck with yours.

She keeps meowing for me and when i go in to her the kitten is rooting for her nipple, if i put it in the right place it latches and she stops meowing so I'm hoping shes asking me for help.
Do they normally have problems findng the nipple?

So sorry, such sad news. The vet told me that kittens can quite often be born with a cleft palate which makes feeding very difficult and is not always visable to the outside. I know it's a horrible thought but maybe the little kitties were poorly and mummy cat knew they wouldn't make it. Hugs xx
