further to my thread

here

basically in short dog is unable to move her tongue, can't drink water although she can eat albeit she's not opening her mouth wide to do so.

someone suggested on the other thread that it could be nurological (she's 13).

so my question is, if it is, is there anything that can be done? or would it just be delaying the inevitable .

I realize that I can't keep a dog who cannot drink, and I won't put her through that for any longer than is necessary. but I need to know how prepared I really need to be to have to make the decision to have her put to sleep. .

she is fine in every other way than this.

But she is my baby. she was my first guide dog and therefore the one that changed everything and gave me a lot of independence. so making this decision is going to be the hardest I have ever made in my life. but I will do what I have to do, I just need to know how likely it is I will be making that decision sooner rather than later.
