My neighbour A had a much loved cat 'Mog'. During lockdown neighbor B started feeding Mog resulting in him rarely going home. B has 'problems' and A felt having a cat might help her so asked if she would like to adopt him, as he was practically living with her anyway. B never took over the pet insurance and four years later Mog is elderly and in very poor health. He has constant diarrhoea which he does wherever he's caught short - usually the pavement or someone's driveway or doorstep. Mog is also stone deaf and frequently lays in the middle of the road oblivious to traffic. I had to pick him up and move him the other day and he is a bag of bones.
Recently someone took him to the vet as a stray but he was just handed back to B with advice to get him properly checked out. A neighbour reported B to RSPCA for neglect but they did nothing. Another neighbour offered to pay to have him pts if B was struggling financially.
We all love Mog and can't bear to see him suffering and are all sick to death of clearing up cat diarrhoea everywhere. B just says let her know when he messes and she'll come and clear it up! She works full time so it could sit there all day. She really doesn't see what the problem is!!
We are all at our wits ends and poor old Mog just goes on suffering. What can we do? Neighbour A is heartbroken and blames herself for handing him over.
