Not sure what to do

Hello, I am looking for some advice as to what to do with my cat. He is 14 and recently has a diagnosis of Lymphoma. He underwent and operation to remove a mass and then the vet has given him 6-9months to live. He is very very skinny. Throwing up at least once every other day and has diarrhoea. He doesn’t appear to be in pain, happy to lie in the sun and get cuddles etc. However, last night he was lying and his tummy was gurgling and he was passing a lot of bad gas.

The vet previously was against putting him to sleep yet, saying despite the above he still has a quality of life. I am finding watching him decline so hard and actually don’t want to wait until he is in pain. I feel like we are delaying the inevitable and we should let him go now. Am I being unfair to him? Has anyone had a cat pass away naturally from
this? My thoughts are he will be in pain even if we let this go on.

Honestly, I would PTS now. Always better a day too soon than a day too late.

I'm sorry.

PTS
I am sorry OP, we had to let our 14 year old cat go a few weeks ago but we did because we loved her.
Vets are very very unlikley to tell you to PTS, although some hint so it needs to be your choice. I stayed with dcat at the end and despite warnings from the vet about what could happen it was very quick and peaceful

Thanks, I think the vet made me feel like I was doing wrong by even suggesting it which confused me. He was saying if he is happy despite throwing up etc but I don’t see why we would keep this going.
