Cats and Kitten

Hey everyone, new to mumsnet. Hoping to seek some advice.

Neighbours cat is constantly pregnant, she’s about 3 years old and must have had at least 6 litters since the age of 6-8months!
Each time she gives birth, we’re told she delivers at least 6 kittens! Poor soul :(

The first time she got pregnant, we assumed neighbours might have just wanted to have kittens. They have young kids. Second time, we were told ‘oh cat is a bit feral, can’t catch her to take to vets’. Also found out none are microchipped, no vaccinations, never visited a vet! They sell all her kittens on gumtree

Utter nonsense about ca being feral. It has been wondering in and out of our house and back garden over the past few years, super loving and friendly. We don’t feed it, she purely pokes her head in most days to roam and be nosey or likes to sleep on our bed and sofa. We’ve suspect the cat just wants a bit of peace and quiet and a some fussy time. Neighbours kids are young and parents are constantly screaming at them and each other.

Fast forward today they another young cat approx 1 1/2 year old female cat (daughter of 3 year old cat). Again has been Pregnant since at 6 months- on her 3 litter!
So it clear they are simply making extra money from these poor helpless souls.

Last year I couldn’t take it no more and tried to convince female neighbour to let
me adopt the 3 year old cat - offering money and taking her to the vets etc for check ups. Got gaslighted by mother saying ‘oh the cat belongs to her 10 year old daughter’, I would have to ask her. Kids knows nothing about taking care of a cat nor the health implications of being constantly pregnant!

It breaks my heart to see these cats constantly pregnant/tired and miserable.
What can I do? Will cat protection get involved, can they be prosecuted?

Thanks

I’d make the poor cat go ‘missing’ and take her to a rescue centre..
