We've been and forth to the vets, two lots of antibiotics, steroid tablets and injection and now apoquel to stop the itching. However we are now back at this...

Only the steroids have totally cleared it up however she can't keep having them.

Can anyone advise, she's a husky, 11 years old and has been fine up until Jan when this started. No change in diet, Groomers's etc.

It's back to the vets again on Monday but just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light as vets is saying dermatitis probably allergy to something environmental and just to do the anti itch treatment which seems to be having no effect.

Has she moulted or still full coat op? Our husky aged 10 had 2 hot spots 2 summers ago. Hideous skin. First time dh paid 100 quid for some tablets.. Next year I made up jugs of green tea and left it to cool. Dabbed generously on. Healed it faster than the tablets... Also consider if you use carpet cleaner /fresheners or what you wash any bedding with...
Would love to see her face though op

My elderly dog has had a few skin issues this year , although more flaky skin and not itchy and our vet said it’s because when they get old the skin is the biggest organ to look after and the body basically can’t keep everything going . We’ve cured it to the most part by fortnightly trips to the groomer for a bath with Bugalugs oatmeal and tea tree shampoo .

Have you tried Stinky Stuff? Our puppy had a skin condition which we never really got to the bottom of but rubbing in some Stinky Stuff has helped her a lot. It’s soothing, anti-bac and anti-fungal.

Omega 3 fish oil capsule in food once a day & an antihistamine - works & will save ££s on vet fees

Soak oatmeal in water overnight and wash/ dab the skin liberally( with the liquid not the oats)
Try Piriton for allergies.

Try Yumega itchy dog oil.

Our family dog had similar years ago. My mum tried everything offered.
Ultimately moving house and Burns Pork & potato did the trick but she never knew which actually made the difference.

My mums old dog had a very similar looking rash out of the blue that ended up spreading all over his body, it was very itchy for him the poor old boy.
After many vets visits and multiple medications/cutting foods and products out/switching to hypoallergenic everything he was eventually prescribed a topical immunosuppressant (Tacrolimus, same stuff I have prescribed for my eczema!). It cleared it up a dream. It did try to flare up a few times after that but she always had the cream on hand to stop it in its tracks.
Perhaps worth a mention at your next visit!
