Cat missing - where should I be concentrating on?

He always comes in at night Didn’t come home on Tuesday. Unheard of
Have searched the garden and this is the neighbours. Out every night calling him and with his bowl of food. Posters up and flyers delivered

Sprinkle contents of litter tray or vacuum on nearby streets, helps rescent home

a woman noticed a cat in her garden and smartly checked out the FB lost pets page. She tried to contact me but the messages didn’t come though. Her D saw my surname and remembered my D from a few years back. She sent my D a photo of the cat asking if ours was missing. (At this point I hadn’t told my D and was about to do it that evening - so that was a shock for her!)

omg the joy when we realised it was ours!! The garden was over a mile away over three fields.
he’s as good as you’d expect to be after 8 nights sleeping in hedgerows. A bit needy too - which is lovely

That's such a lovely ending. I'm really happy for you. I was just coming on to say that our cat was missing for 6 weeks and was found in a village 3 miles away.x

don't give up hope. i'm sure you have received lots and lots of advice on here, i have a wayward ginger tom, the longest he has been gone was 5 weeks! yes 5 weeks and he wandered in as if he had been asleep upstairs on the bed.. i was actually at the point of giving up and cancelling his insurance and what not!

something i do do when he disappears, i give the back door step and the cat flat a good wash.. sometimes he's been seen on the camera coming to the back door but not coming in, i can only assume because of smells left by visiting cats.

pop a note through neighbours doors asking them to quickly check their garages and sheds.. and fingers crossed for you.

Aw great news. I'm sat on the sofa, laptop on my knee. My cat is in the next nearest place - snuggled up against my leg. It's way to hot and sweaty tonight for snuggling up like this but that's cat's for you.
