How hard is having a puppy and WFH?

Would really like to hear experiences of this. Is it do-able having and training a puppy while wfh 4 days a week?

I'm in a role where there are fairly frequent zoom meetings and focused periods of writing. But there are also frequent breaks, lunch break, we have a garden with easy access.

Please can you share if this did / didn't work for you and your family and if it did - any tips. Did you crate train and does this help? Thanks

Also just to add, I found to save yourself a bit of sanity hiding food / treats helped. Old towel / blanket, scattering treats and rolling it up occupied him a good while. Same with old loo rolls. At that age they really do need to sleep so tiring them out is what is needed!

My colleague's puppy was a frequent interrupter of Teams calls when he was little - it's kind of okay where we work as most calls are internal and most people have dogs so understand. In my last job it would have been a bit of a nightmare and not gone down too well at all. So I think it depends!

This is a really eye opening thread, thanks all.

I'm wondering if rehoming a dog would be a more manageable option. Presumably they need lots of help settling in depending on their needs. But at least we could hope to find a house trained dog that sleeps through the night.
