Please do not go to hospital. It’s not even broken the skin. IF he’d bitten and it had gone through layers of skin I’d probably advise to get it checked on Tuesday at your GP.

This would be like going to A&E for a paper cut. Please don’t be outrageous op. It’s fine, keep it clean, that’s it.

I once had a cat with severe behavioural problems who would draw blood with claws and teeth on a daily basis. Perhaps I should have sought medical help for some of the more significant ones (I know that can be nasty) but I'd have lived in A&E if I had. In any event, I kept an eye on them for signs of infection and I was fine throughout that tricky 18m period.

For such an insignificant scratch, I wouldn't give it more than a moments consideration personally.

My cat scratches me like that and it's usually fine after a clean. You'll know if it gets infected. I had a proper deep cat bite once and I did get antibiotics for that but you could see proper puncture wounds. I think this one just looks like a surface scratch. Obviously cat scratch is a risk so just keep an eye on it, if it becomes hotter, more painful, swollen or very red or you get any flu like symptoms then get checked out.

Husband got scratched by daughters cat this morning (he was trying to stroke her). He's washed it and it's fine.

If it starts to get sore or a fever yes go to ED but otherwise no.

Re immunisation Google says it's because of rabies but as there's none in this country no risk. Tetanus too I suppose but if indoor cat unlikely.

Ok, what's going on here?

I'm aware this post will probably get deleted, but I'd like to give you a chance to give your side before I report. And it's only fair that others in the thread are kept in the loop.

I did an AS because I wanted to see if you had other anxiety issues relating to cats etc. I appreciate that minor details sometimes get changed for privacy reasons.

But according to threads you've created in the last year, You have a 2-year relationship with somebody that doesn't live with you, A one-year relationship with someone that does live with you, an 11-year relationship with someone that lives abroad in Jamaica, and you're only 23, Which would mean starting the relationship at 12!!

In mid-august you wrote that you're one year live-in boyfriend wanted you to have a baby but you didn't and we're on were on contraception, whilst on another post literally the week before saying that you were 6m pregnant. 2 months before that, that your boyfriend was struggling with your difficulty in conceiving.

Thank you for you detective services! This is brilliant 🤣

I had a look to check there was no mention of baby loss btw. There wasn't. Just within about a week of being 23 weeks pregnant, that her boyfriend was desperate for them to have a child together, but she doesn't want to and was on contraception. Even if she had been pregnant and tragically lost her baby, I can't imagine that sort of discussion within a week, or being sorted ok contraception, or not mentioning the recent loss in a post about whether he was financially abusive.

How strange.

111 said I need to go hospital

Good Lord… it’s no wonder the NHS is on its knees… seriously? Wash it, put some antiseptic on it and keep an eye on it.

AnnaMagnani · 25/05/2024 16:36

I got bitten and scratched by my cat when he meant it - you can tell the difference, it really hurts and there was blood everywhere.

And the hand it bit blew up to twice the size in about 10 minutes.

If it's infected YOU KNOW.

Most cat owners get scratched and bitten regularly and we aren't going to A+E every time.

Thanks @Babyboomtastic
What a funny approach to life.

BertieBotts · 25/05/2024 17:24

It's a scratch not a bite. It doesn't need medical attention unless it does something alarming like turns green and starts oozing.

chychyete · 25/05/2024 18:05

As if you’ve spent months making shite up and calling someone else out for being a weirdo!!! You have zero shame.
