Theses snakes are both ball pythons the small one is 6 month old male. The large one is 8 months old. Is it possible to have such a big size difference with a small age gap?

Yes, they can grow at completely different rates. Females are also generally bigger than males, and can grow faster. I had 2 boas from the same clutch. The male topped out at 5 and a half feet, the female grew to 9.

The smaller one is much more typical of an 8 month old, the larger one would have had to be massively power fed to get to that size. All mine at 8 months were tiny compared to both of them tbh, but I grow mine on really slowly. Do you think someone has lied about his age?

I was wondering if they did to be honest. It's totally my owm fault though. My older son has a snake already he owns the smallet one in the pic. My younger son wanted a snake for his birthday . So I sorted all the set up. But the guy in the pet shop said my set up is to big for a smaller snake like the one in the picture . So he said I would have to go a little bigger . He said the big one in the pic is 8 months old but I was not expecting him to be that big . But I still took him anyway which was my own fault really.

But when we got him home we noticed tiny sores on his belly . My son said its because he's been tu dry when shedding . My older son has also asked if we can swap so im thinking about that.

Sounds like a pretty shitty pet shop tbh. It’s true that they can get stressed out in a massive enclosure with no where to hide, if it’s a tiny snake going into a massive enclosure though it’s not hard to dot extra hides and clutter about. And stuck shed is unlikely to cause sores unless someone’s been silly enough to pick at it, if the sores are specifically on its belly I’d be more suspicious it’s been improperly kept on a heat mat with no thermostat and it’s likely been burned

Yeah I read that if the enclosure is a bit to big you cam clutter it up a bit. I said this, he said you can but 90% of the time it does not work yes the sores are on his belly. Ds Said it would only be sore if it's been picked at or not enough humity.

What I find odd As well is they seem to keep them in shoebox Size plastic tubs.

Anyway he seens to be settling well.
