Having to rehome a dog

I got 2 dogs last year and one of them has chased after our neighbours sheep a few times, luckily they weren’t in lamb or have lambs otherwise it could have cost us big time. We can’t let her off the lead now at any time, we used to let her run on the beach but are afraid to. Our other dog has no interest in sheep. We are now thinking of finding a home for her well away from sheep and somewhere she will have more freedom. My daughter loves her so I’m a bit worried now she will be about her going but at least she will have the other one. I intend to find her a good home through a rescue. Has anyone had to do this and if so how was your child afterwards. Thanks

Local to here there’s a dog trainer that specialises in sheep proofing your dog, basically your dog gets exposed to sheep that are pretty hard. They don’t go back for more. Might be worth checking out locally to see if there’s someone who does the same?

You need to secure your garden. It is a criminal offence to have an out of control dog. If you can't do that, you shouldn't own any dogs, ever. Dogs are not toys we disregard for shitty reasons like this. Although if your at work, was it really responsible to get a dog anyway?
