he checked her over couldn't find any breaks or disclotation (sp?) gave her anti-bots in case it was a cat bite, she also was walking ok on it at the vets, but today she isn't putting her foot down at all. what could be wrong with her?

Does she have a cut toe pad, or somrething stuck between pads?

SparklyGothKat · 05/03/2008 16:57

vet checked that and so have we, i thought she might have a thorn in her pads, but doesn't. She can still jump and is using it to pad at things.

maybe she has twisted or sprained it. If the vet didnt find anything I would have thought its unlikely to be a fracture. Does she mind you touching it?

SparklyGothKat · 05/03/2008 17:02

nope, she is ok with us touching it. just feel so sorry for her, sadly limping around.

  1. get a large piece of meat out of fridge.
  2. Tie a piece of string to it.
  3. Drag round room at high speed.

has the limp gone now?

SparklyGothKat · 05/03/2008 17:10

lol!! no big bits of meat here, but if I did, don;t think DH would be impressed if i did that!! lol

How old is she?

Could it be a touch of arthritis? Our cat has an intermittent limp and it seems to be when she's got a bit stiff. She can still charge around like a thing possessed though!

my bet is that this is a cat bite, hopefully the ABs will kick in soon. You should keep an eye on the area for any swelling, an abscess often forms, althgough with ABs you should be ok. She might have bruised it etc. If it is no better by friday, take her back to the vets for another look and some pain killers maybe. Bet she gets better though.

SparklyGothKat · 05/03/2008 18:20

she is 18 months old.

It takes a few days usually for the pain to settle down from a cat bite. If she is sore ask the vet for some pain killer for her to have too. They may let you have a bottle of something like metacam without seeing her again if you phone and ask, though only they can say whether or not they should see her based upon the previous exam and any concerns they have.

awww she is asking to go out, can't let her out because she can't move quickly atm and might get knocked over
