You'll be fine. Keep it clean. You won't get rabies.

The cat won't have rabies Grin

Just keep an eye out for infection and treat as you would any other infected cut.

Chances are it will heal fine, no infection and you'll forget it ever happened.

You'll be fine.

Treat as a normal cut. Any obvious sign of infection, see a gp but assuming you don't live in a rabies-ridden country then you don't have anything to worry about.

With kittens, my hands are a mass of scratches for months.

I've had plenty of scratches from my cats. Most I've never cleaned and been fine. They like to pounce on me from behind. So back gets shredded

It is very unlikely it will actually cause any issue but they do itch a lot when healing. Veteran of a multitude of accidental scratches. It's a good age to try get him used to having his pointy nails clipped too.

Oh and you owe cat tax, @chychyete

For a kitten, it's premium rate.

bungalo · 18/08/2023 00:50

Chances are you'll be fine op. I'v had so many cat scratches and not once have I got an infection. Just give it a wash/wipe whenever it happens.

nocoolnamesleft · 18/08/2023 00:53

The most important thing whilst pregnant is to have no contact with cat faeces.

Now is a very good time to start trimming his front nails regularly. I've always had cats and I've always trimmed their nails. They don't accidentally scratch me and they don't ruin my furniture.
