So sorry

You can either take him to the vets to look after him, or you can bury him. My mum buried my cat within a bag and then box, at the bottom of the garden. There is now a little plant growing in that spot too.

Thanks - he was 10. Poor little fella.

So sorry to hear about your cat. I have lost three cats and each time I have asked the vets to arrange cremation. If you bury them in your garden, make sure you dig deep enough, I have heard of dead pets being dug up by other animals.

colditz · 28/02/2008 17:08

Oh

You can take him to the vetr and they will cremate him for you.

I had this done to my beloved Tom before Christmas.

it really hurts, doesn't it?

oxocube · 28/02/2008 17:13

Our vets cremate a pet free of charge. Very sorry about your cat. Ben through this lots of times with our (many) household pets

Feel really mean because I've wrapped him in a towel and locked him in the shed overnight. Will ring the vets in the morning.

I keep looking at his food bowl and all the favourite places he sits sat. His brother doesn't seem any the wiser atm.

So sorry for your loss. Do you know what happened?

catinthehat · 28/02/2008 19:52

Old nicely worn pillowcase, just like being on the bed as usual

Nice spade-depth hole under favourite bush. (Digging's a good opportunity for a private cry)

Maybe an old catnip mouse for company.

Plant a piece of catnip on top when the weather gets warmer.

How

Some very good friends of ours had to have their cat put to sleep today - she was getting on for 20 yrs old so her time had come really but still very sad.

My friend said she sobbed at the vets.

They are planning on burying her in the garden as posters here have suggested.
