Don't know what to think about dog

Does anyone think from this ad a £200 dog at 1-2 year old could have maybe gotten jelous of the baby and lashed out. There were 2 older children in this family. Owner obviously didn't know the age. Just the way the ads written doesn't sit rite with me. I ask as the dog literally charged towards my
2 year old he's known all his life. She was a good bit away from him and my sister was in the middle. I went to visit which i rarely do so he didn't like she was in his territory but she wasn't annoying him at all or even went near him. Just charged at her. She obviously got a fright and started crying he never hurt her as was stopped. Anyway dog will never get near my child ever again. Just looking for opinions. Obviously the dog didn't like my child was getting more attention than him and whining (he whines at everything) but to just charge so unpredictable. And every other time we see him hasn't been at his apart from 2 times in her life. I know dogs can be unpredictable I'm not stupid but I'm just wondering if anyone else thinks it could've maybe lashed out at her Child. She gave him over within a week was more like take him I don't want him have him 2 days later she had a dog. She still asks for updates but I don't know what to think.

I don’t understand your post OP.
The dog has known your child for 2 years, and the owner is trying to re home it?

I find it hard to understand the OP post too. But, dogs don't get jealous only anxious - then sometimes aggressive.

cheezncrackers · 15/07/2023 09:49

Your OP makes no sense and neither does the advert you've attached, which states that the owner has had the dog for two years, but the dog is only 1.5 years old 😂

It says they'll have had him two years in November and that he's 1 and a half now.

That's the only part I do understand though.

I think OP suspects the dog is being sold because it's been aggressive to one of the owners children based on how it's behaved around her family and it doesn't sit right with OP as she's seen the dog charge at her own kid and thinks the ad should be clear that the dig isn't good with kids so it goes to a kid free home.

That's what I think but I'm confused. Grin

TheInterceptor · 15/07/2023 10:34

How long have you had the dog, OP?

ShirleyPhallus · 15/07/2023 10:44

Is this your dog? I am confused

I think her sister bought the dog, the advert was who she bought him off. OP is wondering if the dog has previously 'gone for' the original owners baby.

she's concerned about her toddler who was 'charged at'

i think.???

if that's all correct, the dog needs to be assessed by a professional.

id say it's just a normal untrained collie who thought theyd found a playmate. But clearly the dog needs to be in a home where they understand & respect dogs & where it will be properly trained.

I just find it a bit strange for the seller to say its either my dog or my baby.
And now the dog has charged at my child just all a bit weird.

I'd say that's NO coincidence! Has your sister done anything about the dog??

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 10/08/2023 12:13

Why would she get a dog when she's PG? <totally misses the point>

Hayliebells · 11/08/2023 08:40

I’d 100% keep the dog away from your child. I’d only ever get an adult dog from a responsible rescue, where they can advise on the temperament and match to the owner. Buying a dog in this circumstance is a v bad idea.
