omg please tell me our one guinea pig isn't male

We bought 2 femaleguineas in early november ,they were approx 11 weeks old and from the same litter.

The vet sexed them as well and said that they appeared to be female but sometimes it is difficult to tell when they are immature.

They have co-habited nicely together with the occasional squabble /domestic.
'Pippa'has always had the 'lair' to herself whilst 'Peppa' has sucumbed to the tube.
'Pippa' has always been 1st to have refusal on the food although 'Peppa 'is more vocal.

Tonight we got them out as usual in the kitchen to clean them out and 'Peppa' kept mounting 'Pippa'

What if i can't find a home for the male?
Will a rescue centre take him?

I don't have room for seperate cages.

Ask your local pet shop. Mine sold the randy boy that day to a good home.

Anyone want a male guinea?

I also have a male guinea pig currently living on his own. I would lov to mix him with another male but fear they would fight. Infact, I am convinced they would fight.

With our baby male guinea pig you could tell at a few days, he clearly had a little willy. By 3 weeks, it was totally clear. That's the age at which then can impregnate their mother, they develop very fast.

I would think, if he's young, he'll be easy to rehome. Young animals always go fast on our local freecycle. Or offer him as a pair with one of the forthcoming babies.

Two boy guinea pigs are supposed to be OK together, my book says don't keep them on their own as they get lonely. Or someone with a rabbit could have him as company - we got our lone (pregnant) girl guinea pig as company for our lonely rabbit. they get on well. He grooms the guinea pigs and keeps them warm in cold weather and they follow him round.
