sorry mellowma, i'm sure you're a nice dog owner, its just that i have been on the rottweiller thread and its got me all worked up cos I hate dogs, but thats cos i was savaged by two pitbulls when i was ten.

Yes anal glands and they fact that they eat ALL other dogs poo. I have a choc lab who is 8 months old. He has been wormed regularly since the day we had him. Yesterday took him to vets as he has the shits constantly. Vet says he has worms because of all the shite he eats. Lastly one day he ate so much dog shite that he became very unwell. He went into his lovely crate and puked up all the neighbourhood dog's shite which I had to clear up. Now if that don't put you off............

whispers< I know this is a thread about all the bad things to do with dogs but they don't all eat other dog's poo and they don't all do all the bad things mentioned above, there are some breeds that don't have a strong doggy smell, that don't shed, or don't shed much. >stops whispering<

Anyhow I've got to go now and walk the dog as DH was going to walk her and has now decided he is going off to watch TV instead! Now I don't know if this should be a bad thing about dogs or a bad thing about DHs!

My dog eats poo, sick and tampax out of the bin! She malts constantly in the house, she barks and wakes the baby. She rolls in po and dead fish on the beach. I could go on .....

absolutely Lucy5 mine eats nappies and leaves bits all over the house if I am not on top of bins or locking bathroom door all the time. Dogs are amazingly cunning at opening doors and getting into bins IME.

I have 2 giant dogs and a little one. Every time I stroke one of the big dogs the little comes and licks their genitals.

Its really really dark. Its wet. Its cold. I want to be tucked up in bed. But instead I have to go outside and walk the dogs for the next hour, and then again this afternoon.

Blu - I just think that husbands and wives shouldn't use the LET word with each other.

QofV can easily say 'my dh is not happy about us getting a dog.

I won't let my kids get a dog. I would prefer it that my dh didn't get one!

Dogs are vile - smelly, you have to walk them in all sorts of shite weather and pick up their shite, they get their hairs everywhere, they lick you after licking shite and they pong.

Seriously though they are great companions and when my dh is out I feel much safer at home with the kids and my 2 big dogs Although they would probably lick a stranger to death (After eating shit of course )
