Guinea pig hutch help

Please could someone advise me on which hutch would be suitable for 2 guinea pigs living outside? There seem to many options where the quality doesn't seem very good or omlet which is crazy expensive. What do you have for your outdoor piggies please?

A shed or playhouse would be better, easier to insulate for winter and easier to interact with them when it's tipping it down with rain or a howling gale. You can adapt your own or there are some good suppliers here:

Hutches are a crap design for wanting to actually interact with your animals.

I wouldn't leave it outside in winter. We would move the hutch into the shed in winter.

You also need a large run unless your garden is secure (ours would free range in the garden during the day but they had plenty of boxes and places to hide).

You need a shed :D It will save a lot of bother in the long run!

I bought a 2 storey hutch for my Guinea pigs before I knew any better and wish I hadn't. They didn't like the ramp so never moved from one floor to another willingly. Hutches are not great for housing Guinea pigs full stop or rabbits. The majority are too small - Guinea pigs (& rabbits) need a lot of space they run around and hutches just don't give the required space - ramps take up a lot of room. Mine are so much happier indoors in a c& c enclosure and I put them out in the garden on the grass in a large run on fine days.

Look up www.theguineapigforum.co.uk it's a mine of information! Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I wish I'd joined first before getting my rescue piggies as I've learnt a lot.
