My cat has become clingy and annoying - why?

We have two cats brother and sister, aged 2.5. Also have 18mth old DD.

Both cats have adjusted to new addition of baby to household. They accepted their relegated status with grace and typical cat aloofness.

However, for the last 3 days the female cat has been a right royal pain. Constantly following me into the kitchen and mewwing like she wants to be fed, although she had clean bowl, full of food, fresh water, also checked her litter tray, clean, cat flap open so has access outside. She has started climbing on us at inappropriate times, like eating dinner, or jumping on the kitchen sides, which she ha never done previously, she is currently sitting next to me, staring at me, with one paw on my arm, and cute as it is, its unusual....

She looks healthy, appears to be eating and drinking well, good coat, clear eyes, and is purring while staring at me...

Any ideas?

First thought was that the OP was pg.

Perhaps there's an earthquake coming or a volcano about to erupt?

My 2 cats have been doing this for a couple of weeks now and they are driving me crazy. I spend my time falling over them and shouting at them to go away and leave me alone.

((Or do you think that the cat population is plotting a takeover..))
