Bee/wasp/other sting on paw?

I noticed this evening that my lovely cat wasn’t putting weight on his front paw. He hissed at me when I picked him up to look and it is really swollen. No sign of a cut or abrasion.

He seems to just want to sit next to me in my spot and on my blanket and is happy for me to stroke him but isn’t purring like usual.

No breathing issues, sickness or anything else out of the ordinary. He’s just a more subdued than normal.

I’m thinking he’s been stung and to keep
an eye on him and see if it goes down? Will call the vet’s emergency number if he shows any worrying signs.

My dog ( small) was stung by a bee on his paw a couple of years ago. Vet advised to give piriton and but some ice in a sock and
hold against effected area( after making sure theres nothing still stuck in there) keep a close eye on respitory stress and mouth/tongue swelling. He was fine in a couple of hours.

I will say though I was 100 percent certain as I saw him step on the bee and then i pulled the sting out myself. As you are not sure I would prob seek help just incase.

I came to say the same, I gave my dog Piriton on the advice of the vet. That might help.

I don’t think I have and piriton and DH is out so I’m stuck at home with DC. He’s purring again Smile and letting me touch his paw lightly though. Seems it might be less painful now.
