Cat peeing everywhere! HELP

Hi all,

I’m after some advice if anyone can help!

A bits of background: We have 2 sister cats which we had since kittens together and they get on really well play flighting and cleaning each other etc. One was the smallest in the litter so always a little smaller than the other but gives as goos as she gets and no health concerns.

We love them loads and to be honest although we did get a cat flap installed, haven’t let them outside as there are so many cats around us going missing…

We’ve had them for over a year with no issues but a couple of months ago we noticed the smaller on has started to pee in the dogs bed, then we realised that she has blood in her wee so we went to the vets a few times, no issues found and after sending her wee off for testing came back perfectly fine… which I find odd with so much visible blood in. Anyway the vets gave us some medicine just to take any possible pain away and an equivalent to cranberry juice, and concluded that it’s anxiety related - doesn’t help at all in how to deal with her!

She did happen to get better from that episode so thought she must be cured 😀… then we catch her peeing in the clean washing 😮…

So, we’ve purchased plug ins, sprays, another litter tray, more beds… she’s still the same and now we just can’t have her in any room with soft furnishing.

So this week she just slowly walks about then squats for a pee anywhere… on our bed, in my shoe, corners of rooms… god knows where else! Her sister is absolutely fine and both are eating, drinking well, so not visibly sick.

I just don’t know what to do! I’m tempted to just let her outside but surly this won’t help her anxiety!

Has anyone else had these issues and what do you suggest?

stress cystitis? mine is prone to this she has cystease daily in her food

What type of food does she have? Our previous cat had recurrent cystitis with no infections or other issues apparent (he was always a nervous wee chap but it didn't seem to relate to any particular stressful situation either) and the vet advised taking him off dry food completely. It meant he had dental issues later in life but cured the cystitis.

Hi,
This is quite a complicated one to provide advice on quickly here. I would highly recommend speaking to a cat behaviour expert for advice, Wood Green (a dog and cat charity) offer free phone appointments with their resident cat expert nationwide, I don't know anyone else that offers this for free which is why I'm recommending them. Contact details here woodgreen.org.uk/contact-us
Call up and say you'd like to book an appointment with Sam Prior. Or ask if you can communicate with her by email if you'd rather not call up, she's brilliant!
