help me out here - one of my kittens has been cowering under the sofa all day and I haven't seen the other since yesterday

The cowerer is 7 months old, the vanisher is 3 months old, and I don't think either of them have eaten. Or moved.

The vanisher can't have got out, this I know - so where can she be? Will she ever turn up?

How long will they take to settle in - my last cat was a right bully boy and was strutting his stuff before I let him stay!

have you got a bit of time , prob a stupid question, to sit upstairs, or lie down on the floor and listen, and maybe sit with some chicken.

Got to be somewhere, how horrible for you.

LazyLinePainterJane · 19/12/2007 14:08

You need to thoroughly check each room in turn, closing the door when you leave so you know that they can't get in there again.

I have left food down. In every room upstairs. My house is tiny, she may also have been drinking out of the bath

I will ring the rspca though to see what they think.

I FOUND her! And made her eat some fish! And showed her that the fish was there for later consideration (just before she bit me and ran off)

But she is ok.

I wish I knew about the older one - she was actually less scaredy.

yay!! lol

Has she come from a bad background perhaps? get some toys and shiny paper and she will perhaps come out of her shell a bit more.

My female cat is a bit of a biter, she scares me sometimes tbh.

hatwoman · 19/12/2007 14:36

glad you found one. do you know what room she's in? the advice about keeping them in one room is good - saves future headaches

coldtits · 19/12/2007 14:38

I think she gobbled just enough (out of my hand lol) to assuage her starvation, then could tolerate my company no langer.

She must have been eating without me noticing, she's livel;y and not at all thin.

She wasn't trapped, she was down the side of my son's bed
