Cat gravy?

Help!
Anyone know how to make healthy gravy for cats?
My lovely cat is very old and only eats food with gravy on. Once she has eaten what she wants she licks the gravy off the rest of the chunks then later insists on fresh food! She is fed little and often so the remaining food would still be ok to eat.
Any suggestions?

Off the top of my head, any puréed food with some extra water would make a pretty good gravy. Just make sure you mark it cat food so people don’t eat it!

I don’t think it would be ok to eat if kept after being licked, it would be growing bacteria from her saliva. I’d also be concerned that it would meet all her nutritional needs if you just made gravy to pour on top.

If she’s preferring mostly liquid are her teeth ok?
Have you tried her in cat soup? Less chunks more juice

My cats love the cat soup you get.

Also the Lickie Licks form Asda go down a storm here. They are a yoghurty texture

On cat soup not in! Grin

Thanks everyone.
That's very insightful about her teeth. She has been to the vets a lot lately as has hyperthyroid and on the medicine and old vet shut down so had to go to a new one. Both said she is too old to have teeth taken out but doesn't seem to be in pain so just about giving her lots of quality of life. Doing this through medicine, quality food and lots of cuddles and she loves my new heated blanket!
I was buying an expensive gravy food (already spend a fortune on pro plan renal food!) but that one looks a bit cheaper.
Also very good point about the bacteria if she had licked her food. It's not left for long but I will def keep that in mind.
