Is my guinea pig poorly?

New to owning guinea pigs, I’ve been given them by a friend moving abroad. Both females, one has developed a wet bottom, photo attached. Do I need to book a vet appointment?

Yes. See a vet. They are very prone to stones if it's urine related. If it's faeces, a wet bottom is very worrying and small animals can dehydrate and die really quickly.

Without being able to see the guinea pig problem, it looks to me like urine. Longhair guinea pigs need trimming at the back. Whst bedding are they kept on?

Properly, not problem*

Has she been sitting in pee? They will do that! If you don’t think it’s likely, yes see a vet ASAP.
As prey animals they hide illness well, so when you notice something not quite right you need to seek help.
Is she eating? If they stop eating, you must get them help quickly, ideally from a vet who understands guineas.(I’ve been feeding guineas with critical care or liquidised food every few hours day and night before now.)

Thank you all! Went to vets, took them both, one in the photo has had fur trimmed around bottom, no sign of fever, infection or illness but gave an injection just in case. Cleaned out their hutch and they are now settled and eating kale.

That's good news! I would recommend theguineapigforum.co.uk for all things guinea piggy. All up to date information plus you can join if you want and ask questions - really very knowledgeable respected experts on there as well as ordinary pet owners. It's amazing what's on there and how few vets really know their stuff when it comes to guinea pigs- they have a vet directory too of recommended practices. 😃
