Vomiting cat

Hello. Our beautiful cat has always had a dodgy tummy. As a tiny kitten she shat /leaked poo everywhere but it settled.

Since then she's been a vomiter (intermittently but with periods where it gets more frequent). So,she's on a prescription diet from the vet for easy digestion. We feed her chicken as well as she was getting thin. Periodically when it gets bad I feed her white rice mashed up with tuna or chicken and that helps for a while.

She's also a scavenger and seems constantly hungry. She even ate the fluff out of DHs sock the other day Envy (not envy). She eats scraps off the floor, bread we put out for the birds, anything.

But recently she vomits all the time. Sometimes twice a day. We can take her back to the vet but they just can't seem to find any cause. Just that she's got a sensitive stomach.

She not got worms and there are no hair balls in the vomit.

We have puke stains all over the carpet. Sad

Any advice or thoughts ? I hate to see her suffer.

If cats eat too quickly they can be sick. Have you tried a slow feeder bowl?

Info here about why they vomit after eating quickly.

Could she be lacking in vitamins or minerals and that’s why she’s trying to eat stuff she shouldn’t?

My friends cat started licking poly bags and that was why. She was lacking in something.

Did you get your cats bloods done?

Mine vomit if they eat too quickly.

Try a puzzle feeder.

Thanks everyone for responding, I really appreciate it.

We have puzzle feeders. Bloods were all normal, no blockages. Vet said IBS and just one of those things but that feels like him giving up really.

My poor little cat Sad

What bloods has the vet done? This isn’t normal and I’d be pushing for more tests. Poor baby.

I got probiotics for my boy when he was like this and it worked wonders.

Make sure you’re feeding her good quality high protein food with no cereals or grains. Cats are obligate carnivores, they don’t do well with supermarket brand food or dried food.

One of mine as like this. I swapped her to Iams vitality and she's been loads better. I've also got a raised feeding station which again has really helped. I had no idea such a small cat could produce so much sick. And I'm a nurse! She's gone from 1-2 a day, 2-3 in 24 hours. Every 6 weeks or so.
