Thought of Merry & Pippin ( a la Lord of the Rings) but most people don't 'get it' so not sure now.

Well, here's an update. We decided to let our dd's name them, as suggested by a few of you, and they went for Smudge and Rascal. We picked them up last Saturday, and they are lovely.
