MaryAnnSingleton · 01/11/2007 12:46

aaawwwwwwww! she is as cute as a button - now tell me, do they not shed hair ?

LazyLinePainterJane · 01/11/2007 12:47

How is she doing at night? Ours is 8 weeks and has just started to be quiet at night. It's a hard puppy day today, their teeth are bloody sharp!

LittleMissNorty · 01/11/2007 12:50

Aw she's gorgeous.....hope you're not expecting her basket to stay in one piece

MrsSpoon · 01/11/2007 12:57

LOL LittleMissNorty, the basket was DH's choice, I felt the plastic one would be much more practical so it wouldn't be too bad a thing if she ate it.

LazyLinePainterJane, last night was a bad night but DH couldn't sleep so that wasn't so bad, she has a bit of an upset tummy but is going to vet today anyway for a check-up, she was howling to be let out to poo through the night so at least the mess was outside. I don't think it is anything serious as she is happy and very playful, possibly just me not getting the food right or a reaction to the change in environment.

MaryAnnSingleton, she is shedding a little at the moment and after doing some research apparently there is no guarantee that she won't shed to some degree (however I don't think it would be as much as a lab), I have read that they have puppy hair that they shed first and then they grow more of the wirey wooly stuff because at the moment she doesn't look too much different to a lab pup.

Quootiespookypie, we narrowed it down to a few favourites but couldn't decide so the names were put in a hat this morning and Pippin came out, DS1 not too happy as this was DS2's choice. I've tried to tell him it won't matter at all in a few weeks, she'll just be "Pippin" and he won't be able to imagine her any other way.

Meant to say the wooly wirey hair is the hair that I understand doesn't shed.

can i ask ,how much?

would love a labradoodle, dd1 is allerigic to cats and some dogs, arent these breeds meant to be more allergy friendly?

imaginewittynamehere · 01/11/2007 13:02

Absolutely gorgeous

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 01/11/2007 13:04

she is lovely btw. absolutly gorgeous.

i really miss my dog. we had to rehome her over two years ago as dh went into hospital.

IamDaisy · 01/11/2007 13:05

so Pippin it is then?....she's lovely

MrsTweedy · 01/11/2007 13:15

Pippin is gorgeous! What a lovely dog.
We have a Chocolate Labrador who is 5 months now - I've just added a pic of him at 9 weeks old onto my profile. He had an upset tummy at first too, I think it's just the change of environment.

FlameFromBonfire · 01/11/2007 13:15

Awww

MrsSpoon · 01/11/2007 14:38

Aww MrsTweedy, Ripley is gorgeous! I love Chocolate labs, would have loved a chocolate doodle but the ones the breeder had were F2 puppies (labradoodle and a poodle as parents) and they were much more expensive, don't know if this was because they were F2s or because they were chocolate. With the upset tummy I have stopped her puppy food and have been giving her plain scrambled egg instead (as I read on another site that this was good for an irritated tummy) which she loves, just hoping it's the right thing to do at the moment.

LadyVictoriaofCake she was £550 but came with a £20 bag of food and the breeder very kindly gave the DSs £20 of the money back to buy her another bag of food so in effect she was £510. There is no guarantee that a labradoodle would be OK for someone with allergies but I believe the more of the poodle hair they have the better for allegergies, the F2 pups at the breeder we visited were £850 although I suppose it is worth the extra if allergies are a real issue.

MrsTweedy · 01/11/2007 16:02

I am at £850!
Mind you, prices are higher in the SE (if that's where you are) and I was quoted £800 for a chocolate lab, which I turned down.

ratclare · 01/11/2007 16:51

what size poodle was she from ? ive seen 2 labradoodles recently ,one from a standard and he is huge and one from a minature and she was small

MrsSpoon · 01/11/2007 23:36

ratclare, her dad is a standard poodle, she will probably be massive, TBH I was surprised she was only 7 weeks when I first saw her as she is quite big.

MrsTweedy we are in Scotland and TBH the £550 that we paid for Pippin seemed to be a pretty good price, although if any of us had serious allergies I would definately have done my homeworks and paid the extra if it meant having a low allergy dog, as it is I don't know if Pippin will shed or not.
