Why is my cat suddenly meowing constantly?

For the last couple of days one of my lovely cats has started meowing loudly every few hours. She leads me to the kitchen and seems to want food despite her bowls being full. I've put down some treats and she hasn't wanted them (except for some tuna). This is very out of character as she is usually a very quiet cat.

What could this be? I will obviously book an appointment with the vet but just wanted an idea of what it could be. She does have a speckled eye, I don't think it has got worse and has been checked by the vets.

Thanks!

When you say the food bowl is 'full' do you mean 'full as far as you are concerned' or is there a small part which could possibly be defined as 'slightly not full' by a fussy cat? One of ours will kick off if there is a subtle emptiness to a bowl, even if next to an overflowing bowl, but immediately shuts up if the 'empty' bowl is removed. He finds it offensive and doesn't feel he ought to see such literal violence occurring. He also gets offended if given chunks in jelly rather than gravy and will drag people to his food bowl to say 'look at this, some loser has given me this crap food, do you really expect me to eat it.'

When was the last time she was wormed?

😅😅😅 they are definitely full to the brim!

She is wormed every 3 months and the last dose was a couple of months ago so is due again soon.

Water bowl is full and loo seat left up (she prefers to drink from the toilet 😅).

She's also following me around the house and seems quite cuddly which again is unusual as I have a 2 year old and 12 week old in tow so she usually avoids us like the plague!

Mine was doing this. Driving me nuts. I eventually gave her a saucer of milk and she drank that happily then went out. Who knows what they are saying? Wish I could speak cat!

How old is she? Our old boy shouts but I think that's a bit of feline dementia.

My older cat has suddenly altered in personality a couple of weeks ago. Always been a silent cat but heavily in to his food.
Suddenly become very vocal and demanding, yowling to go out of a room and yowling to come straight back in, I am going around in circles.
As soon as he is fed he wants more despite not finishing what is in his bowl.
Sadly I had 2 others go like this and in my experience it is feline dementia starting.
