Wind problem in Baby Lab........

Hi I have a nearly 5 month old choc lab and he has a severe wind problem. Have tried to change his food which appeared to help in the beginning but now it's worse than ever. Dog trainer mentioned putting some natural yogurt in his food which has not helped as yet. DH took him to the vet for an ear infection and did mention about the wind problem but did not listen to the vet when he was advising. He did mention something about bran to bulk him out but that was it. Can anyone help please..

Also he has started to jump up at the table and steal food when it has been left. I may just leave the table to get something for the DS's, come back and he is at my plate - YUK. Help on that too would be great!
thanks!!

Wind....what are you feeding him on? You could look at putting him on a fairly bland diet? My lab x has wind occasionally and I just starve her for a day so she gets to empty her gut and give her tum a rest.

With regards to jumping up at the table - we have the same problem with our JRTX. So I just tie her up on her lead whilst we're eating our meals. I leave her with her favourite bone or toy and she's happy! But obviously a firm 'NO' is needed if they do decide to have a peep at what's left on the table. Its definitely a habit you want to break sooner rather than later.

Hiya,
We have an old dog with much the same prob .
I have heard that charcoal buscuits are good for wind but a bag of pegs are good to keep handy in case the charcoal does'nt do the trick. lol.
good luck!

Labs are stomachs on legs - you need to stop the stealing now, before it gets worse. Walk out of the room and have a rolled up newspaper to hand - leaving a loaded plate. When you walk back in, if you catch your lab stealing, bang the paper very hard on the table (makes a hellava noise) and say NO in a loud firm voice. You may have to repeat this on a couple of occasions, but it should work.

My (older lab) is on poultry based dog meal and no scraps, which has almost eliminated the wind problem. Charcoal tabs or biscuits are very good, if the problem persists.
