and are they any good.

I've got mine with MORE THAN, but the premiums have gone up so much so that I pay more for 2 dogs than I do for my house insurance.

I dont begrudge paying it but I just wondered if we can get a smiliar policy a bit cheaper??

If you change insurers consider the following

  1. Have you made any claims with More Than or had anything checked out by the vet (worrying or not) as these things will automatically be excluded from your new policy whether or not you declare them. If you don't tell the new company, they can still ask you vet for a full history and your vet is obliged to provide that honestly. If you have then you may be better off staying where you are.

  2. Is you policy a "cover for life" policy? ie if your dog gets an ongoing problem like diabetes, that requires ongoing management, will they pay out every year for life (so long as you renew each year on time)? If so then make sure any new policy you look to is the same - or if it is not then consider that those types of policy are generally a little more expensive and other policies may cost more than you already pay. In my opinion it is worth paying the extra to know you will not get caught out at the next renewal...by which time no-one else would take your dog for that problem.

  3. Read all the smallprint. Some "cheaper" policies require you to pay a percentage of the vet fees instead of a fixed excess. They are not always therefore "cheaper" in the long run.

Hi Beautifulgirls, thanks for replying.
The cover I have the the dogs is a "cover for life" policy
I've never made a claim but both dogs have been seen by a vet for things other than routine vacinations.
I had a look around last night and tbh the quotes that I'm getting are only slightly cheaper than the one I have. I'm probably gonna stay with MORE THAN as there is no point changing, esp when I am happy with the policy cover I have.

Again thank you for your advice
