The poor thing, feel so sorry for her.

Since shes had the op, she wets herself at the slightest thing.
More commonly when shes excited or if she hears shouting.

Is this a normal "side effect" from the operation or should we get her checked out?
I cannot do with a peeing dog in the house.

Nbg - this does happen sometimes, i can't remember why. Why did she have to have the op in the first instance?

You should go back to your vet as generally this sholdnt happen and they can give you something to help with bladder tone, how long ago was the op?

Hiya LEM, how you doing today?

She had the op at the begining of June.
The reason was that just before she turned one she came into heat and it sent our other dog barmy. He kept howling, barking, patroling her and not to mention the obvious humping.
So due to safety reasons (she is a Chihuahua and the dog is a Beagle ) we had her spayed.

I think we will have to take her back as its happening everyday and its very annoying as we have managed to toilet train her well but its just when shes excited or scared, she cant help but pee everywhere.

This happened to my dog too. When I took her back the vet couldn't find anything wrong but gave her a course of antibiotics in case it was a bladder infection. This cleared up the weeing within a week.

Yes this can cause urinary incontinence. They have to take something called incurin for the rest of their lives which is very expensive (cost us £30 a month!)

However, our vet is a chinese herbalist and he managed to cure her with a course of herbs. We were told by another vet that there was nothing that could be done other than taking incurin for ever! It is essentially HRT.

Oh blimey!
I bet our insurance wouldnt cover that either.

nbg that you have a chihuahua one of my favourite breeds, they are ALL dog and i dare anyone to say otherwise.

I think it will most likely be temporary glitch. There are other things on the market cheaper than incurin though, although ive heard that is very good, i have to go, cos his lordship make me a curry and im on a promise so, nbg, you can see, im havinga good day
