I am not joking, this is almost the final straw very close to re homing the Feckers

Its expensive lino and all in one so to replace would cost hundreds

Poor you - can you claim on your insurance (after the dogs are trained up)? I probably would cry....

jabberwocky · 25/06/2007 17:36

Oh, magnolia I was hoping this would not be you

I think I would pour a very large drink at this point.

Wisteria · 25/06/2007 17:37

Second the drink - what sort of dogs are they?

schneebly · 25/06/2007 17:38

I am at my wits end with our dog too

paulaplumpbottom · 25/06/2007 17:39

How on earth did they tear it up?

magnolia1 · 25/06/2007 17:39

Wisteria, they are trained but it had come up away from the edge just a bit and I suppose it was too bloody tempting

Contents insuranec ran out 3 months ago and I hadn't renewed as was waiting for dh to start new job [yes I know stupid of me!!!!!!!)

A huge drink is needed but the vodka is almost gone

jabberwocky · 25/06/2007 17:40

Then I would pour it over ice and drink it straight

magnolia1 · 25/06/2007 17:41

How on earth did they tear it up?

It had come up at the edge just slightly, its only a week old

They are a staffie and a staffie cross Springer.

Anyone want a dog or 2?????

OP posts:
magnolia1 · 25/06/2007 17:41

You bought new flooring ahead of insurance, sorry but

magnolia1 · 25/06/2007 17:44

I had a whole new kitchen done inc flooring and yes before insurance but not on purpose

3 months ago we were in financial shit, I cancelled all direct debits until we got sorted. We got sorted really well (hence new kitchen) but I forgot about the insurance

It happens, stop looking so ed everyone; we are generally very organised as a family but my dp realised last month that his car should have been MOTd in January......

Problem with 2 dogs is that one will start and the other join in - Staffies v v strong so no trouble at all to pull it up. How long were they in for? Sometimes you have to go back with training and 'remind'...

We went through this with our rescue collie/lab chewing and being destructive as soon as we left, took some advice and we gave a chew when we left and then a chew/ treat when we came back in from anywhere (regardless of what she had done). According to the experts, unless you catch a dog in the act of doing something they don't equate what they've done to you being angry - they just start to think - oh, they're going out, they'll shout at us when they get back, so start chewing as they're worried.

True Wisteria, I am thinking re training but it was more exploring as it was lifted slightly and possible even fooinder the lifted bit as near the dining room table.
I should have checked the edging more carefully.

Dh has put duck tape there for now. Looks really good

fooinder = food under

Wisteria · 25/06/2007 20:18

Oh bless them - ours is always starving; "They lock me in the cellar and feed me pins" kind of thing - ate a whole chocolate cake I'd made off the side (and a cauliflower cheese), when she was younger, she'll do anything to get to food!
I think she regretted it though......

sparklygothkat · 25/06/2007 20:23

oh mag. I know how you feel, as our staffy also destroys things.

Hopeitwontbebig · 25/06/2007 21:38

Oh no!!!!! Bloody dogs, who'd ave em eh????

I've had a week of it too!!

Enjoy your stiff drink.
