Vet prices

On my Lordy lord! Is it just me or are vet prices going through the roof? We have two dogs one Lhasa apso and one Labrador. Having just forked out a fortune for annual jabs that need kennel cough so kennels will accept them (£20 extra per dog just for that) I just bought them each three month supply of flea treatment (symparica and stronghold) and worming for the Labrador only it came to £84 I almost fell over. I have been getting advantage on amazon but can no longer find this anywhere hence the vet. But £84?.......
What does anyone else think are we being held to ransom by unscrupulous greedy vets?

I realise this is an old thread, but - as a new member - I was trawling through and thought I'd contribute as I've just taken my dog for his annual checkup. It seems to me that prices can be a bit of a 'postcode' lottery. If you live in a well-off area, with a large local population then prices will be much higher than if you're out in the sticks. I've moved from the former to the latter and the price difference was noticeable. So if you feel you're being overcharged it might be an idea to move to a practice that's a bit further 'out'.

£84 so £42 per dog for 3 months worth of comprehensive flea tick and worm control. So £14 per month. You're angry at paying £14 per month to protect your pet from parasites, some of which (lungworm) can kill them.

I'm sure you spend more than £14 per month on really inane things. Household cleaning products, a bottle of wine at a restaurant, takeaway coffee, takeaway food, the hairdresser, a branded anti-wrinkle face cream, make up. The list goes on. When will people start prioritising their pets health as something necessary to spend money on?!
