She is a gorgeous cat, very loving, never once even tried to scratch or bite us, never caused any damage to anything. She is 3 years old, she is spayed, gorgeous colouring, she really is just a lovely cat, we are having to find her a new home because we think she is contributing to some health problems that DS1 is suffering with. I will pop a picture on my profile. We would really like her to go to someone we have placed her with, rather than giving her to a cat's home, so if anyone is interested let me know at [email protected]

ah, thats so sad. Do you live anywhere near west sussex? If so, I might be able to help. We have a cat, a cat friendly dog, 1 2yr old dd and im a vet nurse.

dionnelorraine · 14/06/2007 18:40

ok just read your profile. Wheres Accrington?? Anywhere near west sussex? (my geography is crap!)

nappyaddict · 14/06/2007 18:44

its in lancashire i think so no.

dionnelorraine · 14/06/2007 18:47

Bugger! Thanks Nappie. Never mind

NatalieJane · 14/06/2007 18:48

Sorry, yes Accrington is in Lancashire.

I am waiting for a picture of her to come through on email so I can put it on my profile, but it seems to be taking a while.

And yes it is very sad, we have had her since she was absolutely tiny, it is going to break DS1's heart

I had to rehome 2 dogs a couple of years ago. They were big dogs and we had to move to a much smaller house. It broke my heart. But with help with a local animal rescue center they found them the perfect homes. They stayed with us until then so they didnt have to go to kennels etc. Maybe try that if no luck MN

xx

NatalieJane, I'm in Haslingden. We couldn't take your cat because of allergies I'm afraid but I'd be happy to ask around for you...couldn't find pic on profile though..

NatalieJane · 14/06/2007 19:01

Thanks that would be great, I will put the picture up as soon as it comes into my inbox.

I'm allergic to all three of my cats and have managed to get around the problem fairly easily by using nasal steroid sprays. They're only localised steroids so have none of the nasty side effects. You can take them indefinitely with no ill effects (I've been taking mine for about 10 years now) and they make such a difference - much more than just taking antihistamines.

If you can get away without re-homing your cat, and get around the problem then that would be the best way. If you do have to re-home her (and I really would hope that you give alternative options another chance first) then make sure she doesn't go to the RSPCA as they will put them down if they're not rehomed with a certain amount of time.

It has nothing to do with an alergy, but thanks for trying to help us out.

And no, RSPCA, indeed any cats home would be our very last option.

I can't upload a picture of her because for some reason my email isn't accepting messages with pictures in them, will try and get DH to sort it out tonight.

I'd liek to add as well that I'd love to help you out, but we already have three cats and a baby on the way, so our house is going to be a bit cramped!

Best of luck in getting a safe, loving home for her

NatalieJane · 15/06/2007 17:33

Thanks
