Is getting rid of fleas possible in these circs

So dd spotted a couple of fleas on ddog this weekend. Been through the whole house with spray/powder/vacuum. Done a zillion hot washes. Shampoo’d, spot treated the dog. Given her a tablet.

Trouble is, dog lives between my house and exH. I also have a DP who has his dog and he and the dog spend 2 or more nights a week here. Also we have a dog sitter. ddog loves her and does overnighters.

I told my ex, dog sitter and DP about the situation.

Four games and two dogs.

Is it futile? Will we ever be rid of the fleas in these circs?

One of mine goes to a groomers every three months. She had fleas almost constantly, only one or two because of the constant spraying with indorex, vaccuming etc.
The only way i have got rid of them is by giving confortis every month. It's expensive but it means i can relax and not have to be on high alert for fleas

I’ll look into that, thanks. Spent £100 on powder/indorex/shampoo/spot treatment so probably would still be cheaper.

That sounds like an awful lot of chemicals. Surely you need one flea treatment for the house and one for the dog. What products are you using?

Powder for carpets, spray for awkward places, fipronil (takes a week) and a tablet which works more quickly. Trying to get on top of it.

I don’t think the others will take it particularly seriously though..

But mine and DP’s dog and mine do NOT get on so she can’t stay here all the time...

Feel a bit Confused and frustrated about it all..

Not too sure about dogs, but they must have something like it. I recently had my cats flea treated at the vets, spot on on the neck as per usual and their annual flea jab. The jab makes any fleas that bite them sterile, making it possible to kill the cycle

Was all that prescribed by a vet? I would worry about overdosing the dog.
We use nexgard each month. Never seen a flea. Heard good things about seresto collar too.
