Okay to leave cat?

We've just got the unexpected opportunity to go away for 3 days this weekend but I'm slightly worried about leaving our cat. He's 5 but newish to us - a rescue from the RSPCA. He'll have been with us for a month and our next-door neighbour will come in twice a day to feed, empty litter tray and give him a cuddle. He's not allowed out yet so will remain indoors while we're away, as he has done since he arrived. Do you think he'll be all right?!

With a visitor coming twice a day I would have thought he’d be absolutely fine - unless he is showing signs of or has a history of destruction or self harm (chewing sores etc) when left alone for more than a few hours? Very unusual in cats though, more so in dogs.

Enjoy your holiday :)

Could leave the radio or television on and lights to come in at night(good security too),leave him lots of toys and activity balls, even the heating on low, give ndn your vets and yours contact numbers and he will be fine.
Have a lovely time.
P.S.activity balls are ones filled with treats, they have to roll them around to get treats out.
Big pets shops,Amazon or vets sell them.
When he does go out,it's worthwhile hanging a blanket of his on the washing line, the scent blowing in the wind will help him find his way home.🐈

Aw, thank you both for reassuring me. Radio on low is a good idea, and will look into finding a treat ball too. He's shown no signs of distress when left alone (though we haven't left him for more than about 8 hours yet) so hopefully that's fine. He can still be a bit jumpy sometimes but has settled pretty well I think.

Hello I’m in a dilemma as I have an opportunity to go abroad for up to a year (minimum 8 months) but I have two adorable cats that I want back when I return. It’s too long to home them in a cattery I think and although a family member has agreed to look after them in a bit worried that her garden is small and she’s close to a busy road and she has one cat and a dog already - I’m seriously stressed so any help would be most appreciated as I’ve been searching high and low and feel like I’m being judged for animal cruelty sometimes lol.

He will be completely fine, just leave him lots of toys and I have also tried leaving my pet, and to make sure he's safe I left him a tracker so that I can monitor him all the time. :)
