Ddog putting on weight but hardly eats anything!

Ddog is nearly 10, collie x poodle and should be around 13kg. She’s currently about 14.5kg and is starting to look a bit podgy for the first time in her life.

I’ve recently taken her off raw (she has colitis and spent nearly a year having constant diarrhoea on raw - it just doesn’t seem to agree with her sadly), and she now has AATU kibble plus Forthglade 90% trays.

Feeding recommendations say:
Forthglade: 0 – 10Kg ¼ to ½
Medium 10 – 25Kg - ½ to 1

AATU: 10kg: 80g-140g
15kg: 100g-210g

She currently has 35g of AATU with ¼ of a tray of Forthglade for breakfast, then 35g of AATU for tea with a slosh of salmon oil. Once a week, she has a tin of sardines instead of the Forthglade, and for treats it’s a dried tripe stick or a dried chicken foot around lunchtime. I sometimes bulk her food put a bit with some steamed broccoli or carrots as she seems hungry a lot. That’s literally all she eats yet she’s gaining weight on it! She’s constantly knocking her bowl about as if she’s hungry, and I must admit the amounts she’s having look far too small compared to what I see other people feeding their dogs, but then a lot of my friends feed a cheaper kibble which is going to look more I guess.

She’s healthy and shiny and gets regular exercise. Not as much as I’d like, granted, as I’m not great on my feet, but she has at least an hour a day off lead running around with other dogs, plus a friend takes her for a really good walk a couple of times a week. I’ve just got a mobility scooter so hopefully we’ll be able to get out more now.

I’d there anything else I can do to get s bit of weight off her without her being even more hungry? Should I maybe look at a different food?

The feeding guidelines are just that and lots of dogs need less than they recommend. Perhaps it just is too much food for the amount of exercise.

As for being constantly hungry the quantity of a good wet food versus a good kibble will be a lot more so maybe cut down the percentage of kibble so that she 'feels fuller' with the wet even though it's the same amount of calories.

I think I feed my current dog, who is a not-enormous staffie cross, more that I used to feed my previous large (collie cross) dog though it is a different kind of tinned wet food and I followed instructions on each sort according to dog weight. However, as my collie cross got older/10-ish, she ate less but expanded. I think this was quite a lot due to decreasing amounts of exercise (her choice as she did have medical issues that made her a bit tired and not so comfortable walking). The vet was always saying she was a bit overweight but if he could have seen what she ate he would have known it wasn't food. We sometimes thought it was middle-aged spread! She carried on for another 3 years, still enjoying life though.
