try kennel club

Do remember that if you want a boxer this is a breed that has a docked tail.
The veterinary profession has backed a ban on docked tails and this takes effect from April 6th 2007
it is basically cutting off the tail in a fully awake puppy

Key Facts
? Dogs such as Boxers, Doberman Pinschers, Spaniels, Poodles and many other breeds have
traditionally had their tails removed or shortened at 3 ? 5 days old.
? Since 1993 it has been illegal for anyone except a veterinary surgeon to dock tails and the Royal
College of Veterinary Surgeons has advised vets not to do this except where it is in the best
interests of the individual dog (see Annex 2).
? Most dogs are docked for cosmetic reasons as breeders believe they are more likely to win when
showing their dog if it has been docked. This is cosmetic or non-therapeutic docking.
? Working types of dog (e.g. spaniels) are docked ostensibly to prevent tail injury while working when
adult; described by some as prophylactic or non-therapeutic docking.
? Some adult dogs may be docked (therapeutically) because of tail injuries sustained in accidents,
tails trapped in doors for example. These operations are done under general anaesthesia by a
veterinary surgeon.
? The tail is not a limb but an appendage and is the end part of the spinal column comprising
approximately 20 coccygeal vertebrae, muscle, nerves and a blood supply. The muscular structure
plays an important role in body shape, function and communication.
? The tail is used as a counterbalance in various locomotory activities: running, walking and squatting
to defecate.
? The tail is used to communicate the mood and attitude of the dog: its emotional state, assertion of
social status, acceptance of a subordinate or equal position, or willingness to fight.
? The initial pain from the direct injury to the nervous system caused by cutting or crushing the tail in a
young pup is intense. The reactions of the pup to the procedure (whimpering, squealing and
wriggling the tail stump or the whole body and sometimes urination) indicate quite clearly that the
procedure is painful.
? The procedure is so abhorrent that the majority of veterinary surgeons (over 90%) no longer dock
tails
? Most veterinary students are no longer taught to dock tails.

Do you want a pup or fully grown dog? Would you consider a rescue dog?

Ive actually found someone who is a boxer bredder and we are getting a puppy in 5 weeks time when they are ready to be re-homed.

They have said that the tails wont be docked as docking them has now been banned.
And ive seen all the regitration papers and vets reports as well so they should be ok.
