My bitch <snigger> is on heat and is now humping my dogs head? What do I do about that then?

Flipping hormones are all over. First off she was growling at him, now she cant get enough of it.

Only thing is my dog has no interest at all. He's actually turned his back on her atm

What should I do with her? Just let her get on with lol.

Chances are your doy will get more interested nearer the time (roughly day 13) - I would seperate them now to avoid any awful accidents. Am I right in thinking this is the Chi bitch and the beagle dog?

Head humping is very normal behaviour for bitches , even the odd proven stud gets it wrong sometimes and has a good old bash at the head.

Nbg · 16/04/2007 11:47

It is rather amusing lol
I'm not so sure my dog will be able to do anything with her anyway becasue of the size difference.

I am feeling sorry for the dog now!

He will definately be able to do something and if he tries he will cause her considerable internal damage. If she gets pregnant she will not be able to carry or deliver the large pups and the outlook for her would not be good. Keep them apart, I would definately give him to family or friends for the next couple of weeks - it will be less stressful for him and so much easier for you .

OMG really!!!!!

I know you really don't need this right now (I think you mentioned on the first post that your were pregnant), but it is very common for dogs of such differing sizes to either mate or try to mate. Even if he just tries to mate with her, he could crush her. A dog intent on mating will go to all length to do so, size makes no difference.

On the other hand, occasionally a bitch and dog that live together can go through a season with neither of them noticing too much ie. the dog doesn't try it on and the bitch has no intention of teasing him. However, this is the exception rather than the rule.

Oh my poor weird dogs, lol.
Will have to keep her in the cage from now on then.

Shes still trying him but he's gone to sleep in his bed lol.

Our friend's German Shepherd chewed his way out of the house by gnawing on the cat flap to reach the Jack Russell bitch on heat at the next door neighbour's house. He was caught trying to climb the fence but he really LOVES her and has had to be put in his cage (unprecedented).

How long does a bitch stay on heat for?
