Early vaccination for Toller puppy

We're getting a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (Toller) puppy. Its 3 weeks old at the moment, and will be 8 weeks old when we bring it home. When I was at the breeders one of the other couples who are also getting a puppy asked about early vaccination. I've heard a bit about this, vaccinating the puppy at about 6 weeks so that they can have their second vaccination sooner and therefore get out and socialise more easily at a younger age. Has anyone done this? is it a good idea?
Does anyone else have a toller? I've met a few adult tollers and the pups are gorgeous, got some advice from the owners and will be seeing more of them over the coming weeks - the breeder runs a training school with a toller class every friday evening, so we're going along weekly to get to know adult tollers and then get to cudle the puppies after. But none of them have their own children with the dogs, grandchildren and nieces etc which they say are fine. I've read about them and they sound good and seem very friendly. We were going to get a border collie, but apparently these can be very mouthy when teething so we've decided to get a toller instead. dd will be 2 just after we get the puppy, but is used to dogs as I have a 15yr collie cross and she sees other family dogs too. WE're planning on crate training and will go to puppy socialisation classes and the toller classes. Any other recommendations?

Lovely breed - are you going to work it in any discipline?

Re the question: Will the breeders vet give both sets of vaccinations? The reason I ask is that your puppy will have to receive a full set of vaccines of the same type/make. If your breeders vet uses a different vaccine to your own vet then the first vaccine will have to be redone using the make of vaccine that your own vet uses. HTH

As far as I know, Guide dog pups are vaccinated at 6 weeks to allow for early socialisation/training.
But as Joannie says, all the vaccines will need to be same manufacturer/type

Good luck

Thanks, I'll make sure I find out. I can always take the puppy back to have its 2nd vaccination at her vets as she's only 35mins from us.
The puppy will be coming to work with me 3 days a week, I work as a Countryside Ranger, so it will be out and about in the countryside alot. I'm also hoping to do some agility when he's old enough.
Can you tell me how long they wait between vaccinations and how long after the second one they have to wait until they can go out for walks?
Thanks

Hi a lot of vets don?t like to give early injections as they can be rendered useless due to mother?s antibodies leaving the puppy without the necessary protection.

Thanks, I've spoken to my vet and decided to go for the normal vaccination at 8 weeks.
Thanks for the advice. Anyone else out there with a Toller?

Our puppy was vaccinated at 6 weeks and 8 weeks, thought it was the norm.
