We have just moved house and our dog keeps bolting out the front door and running away to explore. She wouldn't run out in the old house even with the door wide open. Moving from the countryside she is not used to streets and roads and runs right into the road. Trying to be as careful as I can to avoid it happening but any advice welcome please

Take her for lots of walks around the area for hours at a time. Let her sniff and be as nosey as she likes, over time she'll get used to what's out there and won't be so fussed with trying to escape. Good luck!

I urgently need help.
I have an 8 month old border collie who won't stop biting, he bite anyone for no particular reason, even when there is no noise or movement he still continues to bite everyone! I have tried to train him out of it by telling him no and removing him so hes alone, I have also tried treats, extra walks and he just never seems to listen at all... Even when he's walking he pulls majorly on the lead, jumps up at passers by and I'm just at my wits end as everything I've tried is useless... It's urgent we sort this now as we have children in the house and he is becoming a pain to look after as we have to watch him 24/7, someone please help!!

@jamietasha27 We have been told that a good rule of thumb is to ignore the bad and reward the good. So anytime you catch him behaving well, make a fuss and give him a treat. If the behaviour becomes negative then completely ignore it. Hopefully over time this will result in him learning that good gets rewards but bad doesn't. From what I know of Collies, they require a lot of mental and physical stimulation so is he getting it? Maybe ask local breeders or owners of collies for advice?
Dogs don't understand 'no' so it wont be effective and punishing will only result in him associating you with bad things and becoming more hostile.

Jamie you need to hire a dog behaviourist or risk a major bite. It's past what you can handle on your own.

Rottie Would a dog gate help in the short term? And in the longer term look into training her to sit calmly when the door is opened until she is told she can go. And keep on lead obviously until you are away from the road!
