Almond shells and dog poisoning/vomiting-any advice

Have finally put two and two together
The dog was sick for a few days last weekend, quite quiet and subdued and poor appetite , settled after a few days and back to normal.Have realised today that she had been chewing on a whole almond ie shell and all prior to this episode
On thursday, she ate another whole almond that DS had left lying around, not all of it, had chewed it into bits but left lots of bits on the carpet
Friday pm she vomited, saturday am she vomited and sunday am she vomited after small amounts of food.
Drinking well, miserable but alert and reacting normally.
Have finally twigged by doing some internet research that nutshells can be poisonous but my mutt does seem a little better and more reactive now in comparison to yesterday
Am planning to contact vet tomorrow am, as seems stable and am at home all alone with no Dh as just gone off to Germany for the week, so taking her to see anyone now would be really really tricky with the DC in bed.
but any expertise or advice would be received gratefully
She is a minature schnauzer which is the same size as a westie .Thanks in advance

hiya, have just asked my Dad who is a retired Vet...he's not aware that nuts are especially poisinous for dogs (he did specialise in sheep though so I'd probably check with your vet tomorrow). He advises small amounts of food with no fat or fibre in, or if the vomiting is bad then just sugary water...don't let your dog gorge themselves on either...will probably just bring it up again. Hope that's of some help.

No worries...my poor old Dad had just been quizzing me about MN...and asked if he could have a go!!!(he doesn't get out much)...and then we spot your question. Fate indeed

Hope he enjoyed it, I do have an American vet cousin but she is extremely pro-active and if I had asked her might have made me do all kinds of invasive things!

Oh God no...leave all that to the vets and their easy wash down floors and examination tables!!
