Get cat checked by Vet.
Might have cystisis (urine infection) which is very common in cats. Check for blood in the urine.
If cat un-neuterd then may be scent marking. Get them neutered if they are not already.
Biological washing powder good for cleaning cat pee, followed by a wipe with surgical spirit

Hope that helps

my cat did this because I changed the type of cat litter and he didnt like the change!

Jimjams2 · 01/12/2006 22:44

We had this and turned out the cat was diabetic- he had insulin injecitons for a while but weirdly diabetes in cats can be temporary and ours was. Apparently it often goes with stress (in our case building work).

you can get something from the vets which neutralises the odour (so decreases the likelihood of them weeing in the same spot again).

Do you ahve only one cat? One of mine (two brothers, both neutered before they could start marking and spraying) wees on our bed (if we don't catch him in time!) or on something directly in front of us i.e. mats / seat (to be fair he hasn't done this in a while since I bought the Vicky Halls books and figured out his problems!!) in order to get our attention and tell us he isn't happy. It turns out that as we had taken away one of the cat loos (believing that as they now went outside most of the time they would be ok on one indoor loo), the elder brother was preventing his younger brother from using the loo by marking it first or attacking his brother if he went near it etc. I can reccomend (sp) Vicky Halls books if your vet doesn't get things sorted for you!! Also the spray previously mentioned from the vet is excellent at preventing them from weeing in the same spot so long as you spray a generous area around the site! hth.

sorry forgot to put that we have now re-instated the second loo in a quiet place, provided 2 eating areas and touches wood things have been great for about 12 months now! The last time the little one wee'd on our bed was because we were going on holiday and he was stressing himself out (for no reason as a friend was coming to stay and cat sit!).

maybe he is after bit more attention,he does tend to get left out a bit since ds was born.yes we only have 1.
