I had a flatmate who had a tantrum once because my other flatmate let the school cat into the flat. She said that cats were to be kept in cages and only taken out to be cooked.
But I guess that was the way things were in her country.

Dog cages are not bad if well used and recommended by lots of trainers.

cowmad · 22/11/2006 22:46

chandra are you nuts?how could you flat share with someone who eats cats?

rustybear · 22/11/2006 22:53

But why do you call cats & dogs domesticated & hamsters not?
I know they originally came from the wild, but think how many generations they've gone through since - I think they're pretty domesticated by now.

cowmad · 23/11/2006 00:13

because if you opened the door they would run
is a fair way of equating dosmestic
i know some dogs/cats do but ALL hamsters do an bunnies!
an the cats an dogs know to ask humans for food and shelter ...hamsters an rabbits dont..

jampots · 23/11/2006 00:16

Eh, Cowmad?

I'm joking on this thread. I don't have a cow in a cage. That would be ridiculous.

It lives under the stairs

And don't know. I was joking!

cowmad · 23/11/2006 13:54

no to two daughters wtf

cowmad · 23/11/2006 14:00

but i never reply correctly to such a question!
nosey!!

rustybear · 23/11/2006 14:56

Hamsters that are used to handling don't run as soon as the cage is opened - they do come out & explore because they are nosy little creatures, but all the ones I've had have been perfectly happy to sit in the middle of the floor & clean their whiskers. (Wouldn't advise this if you have a cat though!)

Chandra · 23/11/2006 19:53

Well, I admit to miss including the question "do you eat cats?" when choosing who to live with.

HAving said that, after a few years my list evolved to include "do you have cats?" because I have enough bad experiences with them not to want to have one around on a daily basis.
