Please recommend me a rabbit hutch

For one rabbit. Will be kept inside during the night and put in a hutch with run attached during the day and hopefully be stroked and played with inbetween both in and out of the house.

We want something big enough for it to stretch and also somewhere for it to sleep and be sheltered. We don't have loads of space to put a shed as some might suggest, def needs to be a rabbit hutch with run.

Brought a guinea pig hutch before for local pet shops but this time want something well made and to last.

Please help! It's our first rabbit so we are new to this.

Have a look on the welfare hutches website. There's good hutch and run combos on there.

I've heard this one is good but it's a bit pricey.

They also sell hutches on there own and you can add your own run to it.

This one is similar but it doesn't have the opening at the top of the run which might make catching the rabbit and cleaning the hutch out tricky.

Please please please don't keep a rabbit alone. They are social species and your rabbit will be miserable.

They need lots of space and outdoor run, gone are the days where a hutch is considered to be adequate.

Please do read up on them before getting them and get a bonded pair not a single rabbit. Good luck!

Second what LaLaLaaaa says, please don't get a solo rabbit.

I got mine a buddy because I felt bad leaving him home alone! He used to follow me around the house. Seeing them play and chill out together it breaks my heart to think I isolated him before.

And to add - there are always rabbits in need of re-homing. Young ones too - they do 'breed like rabbits' after all! If you adopt from an animal charity they will most likely offer you a bonded pair. If you aready have a rabbit they can help match and bond yours to one in need of a home. They will also be able to advise about space. Have a google, also local dog/cat shelters sometimes take in a few bunnies even if it's not a small furries charity.

Fwiw I keep mine in an indoor run 1m x 2m, with cage above. They are allowed out twice a day to run around the room (bunny-proofed) or out into the back garden (v small, secure, with raised beds to stop nibbling) with me keeping an eye on them.

It might be a better idea to get guinea pigs - again, animal charities often have unexpected guinea pig litters delivered!

But rabbits are great, and two playing together are great fun to watch!

I agree, please don't get one rabbit. It will be lonely and a liability when you cannot offer it daily affection and play - they need to have other rabbits.

There are two options that you should consider when having a suitable rabbit hutch either to buy or to build one for your rabbit and I think building hutch is better option for your rabbit by which you can consider few things like needs and requirements of your pet.

I also agree at needing a pair

i had single rabbits as a child, and thought they were happy, but looking at my pair cuddled up now there is no comparison
